Authorities were called to a vehicle fire early Sunday morning on Plum St. in Altus. Kerry Dwayne Henry told authorities that he had gotten stuck in his 2003 Chevy Silverado pickup in a field at 3017 Plum St. While trying to free the vehicle, the tall grass around the exhaust cuaght fire. Since the vehicle was stuck and could not be moved, it caught fire. The pickup was destroyed by the fire. Altus Fire Department responded to the scene to put out the fire. The estimated value of the truck was $5,000. No one was injured.
