A vehicle reported stolen out of Georgia was recovered by Franklin County Deputy Tyler Underwood during a traffic stop early Friday morning. Deputy Underwood was westbound on I-40 when he noticed the vehicle cross the white line, Deputy Underwood ran a check of the vehicle which showed the 2010 Chevy Cobalt had been stolen from Atlanta Georgia. Deputy Underwood then followed the vehicle as it exited the interstate into the westbound rest area. Deputy Underwood made contact with the driver who said she had borrowed the vehicle from her boyfriend to go pickup her children in Colorado. The driver, identified as Kelly Gallagher of Wisconsin, could not get authorities much information about the boyfriend and was also found to be wanted on a warrant out of Wisconsin. Gallagher was arrested for theft by receiving and no dl and booked into the Franklin County Detention Center. Formal charges have not yet been filed and a bond hearing is pending. The theft charge is a felony.
