The Franklin County Sheriff's Department received a call at about 8:30pm Saturday of a riot involving around 60 students at the Cass Job Corps on Highway 23 North in Franklin County. All available units responded to the call. While enroute - another call came from Cass that the parties involved had been separated and put back into their dorms and were on lock down. Authorities arrived at the Job Corps and questioned all involved resulting in the arrest of a 24 year old Justin Ellis on charges of 2nd degree assault and disorderly conduct. Ellis was alleged to have started the riot when he entered the gym at the Job Corps where a volley ball game was taking place, and starting mouthing off to some in the gym, provoking a verbal argument. Ellis is also accused of striking a female who was trying to get him to leave the gym. No one was seriously injured in the incident.
