The search for a missing Texas man ended less than 24 hours after it began. Troy Paul Wilcox of Dallas Texas, who was reported missing by family in Texas about 6 weeks ago, was found this morning on the Ozark Highlands Trail. Searches located Wilcox about a ½ mile down the trail from where his truck was located on Monday near Ozone in Johnson County. Wilcox said he had been camping at various locations along the trail and did not appear to have any health issues. Wilcox told authorities that he came back to Arkansas from Texas because he was depressed over financial losses. Wilcox has been camping in the area since April. Wilcox's sister from Dallas is coming to Arkansas to pick him up.
The search for Wilcox started on Monday afternoon when the Johnson County Sheriff's Department received a call of an abandoned vehicle at the entrance to the Ozark Highlands Trail near Ozone in Johnson County. When authorities ran a check of the truck they found the owner to be a missing person out of Dallas Texas, and began a search of the area with assistance from Franklin and Crawford County
