An article in the Fort Smith Times Record reports USDA officials announced this week that FSA offices in 10 Arkansas counties are scheduled to be closed under a cost cutting plan including two in the River Valley. The report shows that the Logan County FSA offices in Paris and the Johnson County FSA office in Clarksville are among those on the list. Some of the criteria includes offices with two or fewer employees and offices within 20 miles of another FSA county office. Public hearings will be scheduled in the counties where FSA offices are being closed according to the article. Other counties affected are Benton, Bradley, Faulkner, Fulton, Garland, Izard, Lafayette and Pulaski
