Johnson County Deputies were called to a home at 161 PR 2223 Lot 100 to a residential burglary with guns. Deputies arrived and made contact with the occupants of the property, a Carl Powell and a Kristin Baldwin-Powell. The two stated that three subjects wearing ski masks kicked in the front door of the home armed with guns. One suspect had a shotgun, the other two were armed with pistols. When the suspects entered the home they demanded that Carl get on the floor and they grabbed the baby Kristin was holding and told her to get the money. The suspects started looking through the house for something and at one point Carl said he attempted to get up, when one of the suspects hit him in the head with a gun and kicked him in the chest. As the suspects were going through the house, one yelled it's not in here I can't find it. The suspects then told the Powell's if they attempted to leave the house and follow them, they would shoot them. The suspects fled the scene in a Chevy S-10 pickup. An ambulance was called to the scene to treat Carl for for a minor head wound which he was later transported to the hospital for. While at the home, law enforcement notice a strong smell of odor coming from the bedroom of the home. Inside the bedroom deputies observed some pipes, scales, a couple of boxes of plastic baggies. They also discovered a large amount of marijuana in two unopened bags. Both Carl and Kristen Powell were arrested both on multiple felony drug charges.
