Franklin County Sheriff Anthony Boen announced Thursday that plans are underway to begin using inmates of the Franklin County Detention Center to clean up the roadway ditches in Franklin County. The Sheriff said in an effort to make Franklin County Cleaner and help with jail overcrowding he wanted to take advantage of the opportunity, something he has been working on organizing for several weeks now. The sheriff said that he would be using non-violent inmates to work the clean up detail supervised by deputies. The clean up work is expected to begin next week on State Highway 23 south just south of the Arkansas River Bridge.
