No one was injured in a two vehicle hit and run accident Tuesday afternoon at 3:45pm on State Highway 41 at Friendship Road in Franklin County. Franklin County dispatch received a call about 3:45pm of a hit and run accident in the Coles Chapel community. An Elizabeth Molton of Cecil said she was driving a 1995 Ford Escape northbound on Highway 41 and noticed the other vehicle stopped on Friendship Road. Motlon said as she approached the intersection, the other vehicle pulled out in front of her. Molton struck the vehicle in the bed area on the driver's side with the front of her vehicle. The other vehicle left the scene and was later located by law enforcement on Wood St. in Charleston. The suspect vehicle was a 1985 Datson driven by Lyle Weigert of Charleston. No one was injured and the damage was estimated at under $1,000 to both involved. Weigert was cited for Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Expired Vehicle Lic.
