No details have been made available at this point, but KDYN News has learned that an agreement has been reached between Franklin County and the City of Charleston over dispatching fee's charged the City of Charleston by the County. The lawsuit was scheduled to be in court on Feb. 21 & 22, but Monday both sides were in Fort Smith with mediator Robert Hornberger of ADR Inc, as directed by the special judge who is presiding over the lawsuit. The two sides are reported to have reached an agreement involving a lump sum payment from the City of Charleston to the County for past dispatching fee's - reportedly in the amount of $30,000 along with a flat annual fee for the next 5 years. The agreement was approved by both sides Monday. It is expected that more details may be made available today.
