Franklin County Sheriff Anthony Boen tells KDYN News that his department is investigating what appears to be an arson fire at the Franklin County yard in Ozark off of Airport Road. The Sheriff said he was contacted by an individual Sunday morning about 9:30am reporting the fire. Two full size dump trucks were destroyed by fire and a 3rd newer dump truck was damaged. Sheriff Boen said that there were 4 trucks parked together on the yard at the time. The dump trucks included a 2007 International Harvester, a 2005 Sterling Tri-axle, a 2012 Mack Truck tri-axle and a 1999 Western Star tri-axle dump truck. The total value of the 4 trucks is $320,000. Only two of the trucks were a total loss with damage to a 3rd. The 2012 Mack was reported to have only sustained minimal damage. According to the report, an employee of the road department had been at the yard at 5:30am dropping off a backhoe and didn't notice anything. At 9am a passerby noticed the fire and notified authorities.
