Franklin County Breaks Ground on Tower Site
01-06-12 11:48
The Franklin County 911 broke ground on Thursday in Charleston for a project they hope will improve radio communication for southern Franklin County. Randy Boren, director of Franklin County 911 reported that the project will erect a tower with a repeater aimed at improving radio coverage for emergency responders in the southern part of the county. The project will also link other repeaters to the Charleston tower with new digital technology. Boren reported that the tower is located on property donated to the county last year. The project is expected to take about 4 months to complete.
