Supt. Clint Jones announced this week that the County Line School District is the proud recipient of an $11,000 Joint Use Agreement Grant. The Arkansas Joint Use Agreement (JUA) Grant is a competitive application process made possible and supported by Arkansas' Governor Mike Beebe and the Arkansas Tobacco Excise Tax created by Arkansas Act 180 of 2009.
The County Line School District and the County Line Little League have an ongoing partnership that has been in place for many years. At present, the partnership has funded and provided labor to build a covered concrete area that will double as a batting cage and pavilion. The JUA grant will support the ongoing partnership and program by offsetting district cost incurred from utilities, supplies, and maintenance while maximizing the space with greater amenities for our students. New equipment to complete the batting cages will be purchased including a batting cage net, pitching machine, and a portable pitcher's mound. Other improvements will be made including a sidewalk, benches, fresh paint, trash bins, and security lights.
County Line School District's grant proposal ranked highest out of those submitted.
