A call to the Johnson County Sheriff's Department about an abandoned vehicle has now led to a search for a missing person. Franklin and Johnson County Sheriff Department's along with other emergency agencies are involved a search for a missing Dallas man whose vehicle was found at the entrance to the Highland Trail near Ozone on Monday. Authorities say that the vehicle belongs to a Troy Paul Wilcox of Dallas Texas who was reported missing by his family and has not been seen since early June. Wilcox is a white male 60 year old and was reported missing by his family about 6 weeks ago. Authorities say that at this point no foul play is expected. Wilcox apparently filled out a trail card at the entrance to the Highland trail indicating he was going to walk the trail to the Mulberry River. For those unfamiliar with a "trail card", there are boxes at the entrance to most trail heads where individuals can write down information about there planned hike or walk to help in locating an individual who becomes lost. Authorities say that his information puts the man in the area about the weekend of the Wakarusa Festival in Franklin County. It is believed that the vehicle has been at the location for about a month and a half now based on information obtained on the card.

Representatives of Johnson County are searching eastern portions of the trail and have used K9 units in that search but have not had any success to this point. Authorities are also going back through the other trail cards and attempting to make contact with individuals believed on the trail about the same time to see if any information can be learned about where Wilcox might have last been seen.

Again authorities are searching the area of the Highland Trail in Johnson and Franklin County for a missing Texas man identified as Troy Paul Wilcox age 60 of Dallas. Foul play is not expected at this point.
