On Friday, Anthony Baumann reported of a theft that had occurred on property located near Charleston on State Highway 219 South in the 5900 block. The Franklin County Sheriff's Department report shows that a 2009 Polaris Sportsman 850 ATV, green in color, was taken from a shop building on property owned by Baumann's father-in-law Frank Roberts. The suspect(s) had cut a lock to gain access to the building and then cut a chain inside the shop to steal the ATV. A Stihl chainsaw was also taken from the scene. The shop door was destroyed in the burglary. Authorities were able to gather some evidence at the scene. The estimated value of the ATV is $12,500. The report shows that the theft occurred sometime between December 21st and December 27th.
