2 Mulberry Residents Injured in Accident
12-13-11 04:38

2 Mulberry residents were taken to the Summit Medical Center in Van Buren following a single vehicle accident on Sunday at 3:30pm on Wire Road. Deputy Matt Hamilton investigated the accident for the Franklin County Sheriff's Department. The report shows that a Dianna Flaherty of Mulberry was driving a 2008 Mitsubishi truck on Wire Road and said that a deer ran out in front of her vehicle while she was traveling westbound. Flaherty said she swerved to miss the deer and lost control of the truck running off the road and overturning. The report shows that Flaherty's son Jake Quick was a passenger in the vehicle, both were complaining of pain and were taken to the hospital for treatment. The report shows that marks on the road indicated Flaherty was traveling too fast when she reached the gravel section of the road and was unable to maintain control of the vehicle she was driving causing her to run off the north side of the road and overturn on the northside of Wire Road. The accident happened just west of Benuex Bottom Road.
